Athlete of the Month January
Where are you from? I am originally from Hatillo Puerto Rico
What were your experiences as an athlete before starting CF? Before CrossFit I was a long distance runner and also a Cheerleader for the University I was attending. Apart from that I come from a military family and also being an Officer in the Army Physical Fitness and health is very important to me.
What was your first visit to CFR like? I was super nervous and a bit intimidated to what I had signed up for but that quickly changed. The atmosphere was very motivating and positive and I haven’t stopped since.
What is your favorite WOD/workout/movement? My favorite movement is surprisingly the Snatch. It has been very difficult for me to be able to do it correctly, but hard work has payed off. It feels great now and looks way better.
What motivates you during a WOD? I’m just motivated to be better than the day before. I see how far I’ve come and want to see how much farther I can go. Its a bit addicting.
What is the one thing in CrossFit that you never thought you would be able to do?
Actually I’ve always thought of everything as a possibility with hard work. But if I had to say it would’ve been pullups and Double Unders, those have been two of the movements that I had to work extra hard on.
List one goal that you have for yourself in CrossFit. To always be able to keep the discipline and motivation to not quit no matter how hard or impossible it may seem.
What do you do when you’re not at Rekkr? I basically spend most of my free time at Rekkr so I like to otherwise spend time relaxing at home or with friends.
Name something that we may not know about you. HA! that’s pretty difficult. Um.. I like interior decorating actually.
